I was at LA Fitness a few days ago and some guy was asking me who my boyfriend was because I was watching them play basketball. I pointed at him on the court. He asked how long we’ve been together, I said almost two years. He was shocked, like most people, saying “wow that long? How do you guys do it? Mine, at most, lasts about 2 months!” Cool story broo.
Apparently, relationships are considered “long” anything after a year of being with the same person. I think that’s bs! Two years? Your relationship has just begun, it hasn’t even started yet! I used to have doubts about my relationship, I anticipated the worse but he’s shot down every doubt and horrible expectations I’ve had about relationships.
So to answer the “how do you guys do it?” question: wait, find the one you want to be with 24/7, find the one who brings out the good in you, find someone that fits your every standard, find the one that you’ll have fun with regardless of what you guys do. They’re really out there!
My favorite thing about my relationship? We have SO much fun! We’re an extremely playful relationship and I love it! We fight like siblings and talk like best friends and a little more! I’d trust him with my life! That brings another topic I found quite interesting! People are always testing the type of relationship I have.
One day someone was testing the trust between Darren and I. “Oh, if you guys really trust each other you guys should trade phones for a period of time!”, or “You would never know if he cheated on you, what if he’s lied?”, etc. There’s something called trust people! If I didn’t trust him, would I be with him? HELL NO! Firstly, jealousy is not in my vocabulary. He can talk to whoever he wants to talk to! Secondly, there’s always a leak to a lie!
Great love grows day by day, and I believe this is true considering that my love for him is growing continuously. Cheesy? I know, but love is extremely cheesy to begin with. (:
